Alberta Jean Walker, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 19, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1955, in Windsor, Colorado. Alberta was known for her joking nature and no-nonsense attitude, which endeared her to those around her.
Education played an important role in Alberta's life, as she graduated from Windsor High School in 1974. She pursued a career as an Licensed practical nurse in the 1980's. She worked closely with several nursing homes in the community, her compassionate spirit and dedication to providing care made a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Outside of her career and education, Alberta had many hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She enjoyed challenging herself with crossword puzzles, finding solace in cooking for others, and passionately supporting the Denver Broncos.
However, Alberta's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her children. She poured her love and devotion into raising them, giving them a strong foundation for their own futures.
Alberta leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by her son Chad (Liz) Walker of Johnstown and daughter Tara (Eric) Bernhardt of Windsor. Additionally, she is fondly remembered by her sister Judy (James) Wolfe of Greeley, sister Barbara (Rick) Maag Greeley, as well as six nieces and nephews and a special niece Laira Ziegler who will forever cherish their memories of their beloved aunt. Her grandchildren will forever hold her in their hearts Bradley Walker of Johnstown, Kinsley Walker of Johnstown, Dillon Walker Bernhardt of Windsor.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parent's Amelia and Albert Harding, brother Harland (Sonny) Harding, as well as Terry Walker (former husband and best friend).
A memorial service to honor Alberta's life will be held on September 30th, 2023. The service will take place at Bethel Lutheran Church located at 328 Walnut St in Windsor, Colorado. The service will at 10:00 AM followed by a reception.
In this time of grief, let us remember Alberta for the joy she brought to our lives. Her infectious laughter and loving spirit will forever echo in our hearts. May she rest in peace knowing that she made a significant impact on the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
