On Tuesday, September 27th at 7:20 am, heaven gained a beautiful angel.
Alice Delarosa Delacruz passed away peacefully in her home in Greeley, CO.
Alice was born in San Angelo, TX to Mr. Cleto Brown Delarosa and Josefa

Alice lived a full life and enjoyed sightseeing and traveling throughout the
nation in her blue Chevy van. For many years, she traveled to her hometown
with her son to deliver large sacks of fresh Colorado pinto beans and other
foods to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Angelo, TX. Alice worked in the
Custodial Services Department at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC)
and retired in 1996. Alice was selfless, had a servant’s heart, and was always
willing to help those who were in need of food and clothing. Alice was also a
member of the Rodarte Community Center in Greeley, CO where she played
games with her lifelong friends and bingo partners. Alice also enjoyed
dancing with her husband Joe and created a peaceful and loving home just
miles away from the Rocky Mountains.
Alice was a loving grandmother to her five granddaughters and their
husbands—Dalia and Dale Harvey of San Antonio, TX; Anita and Andy
Carrasco of San Antonio TX; Christina and Kevin Muegerl of Oklahoma City,
OK; Cindy and Celso Hernandez of San Angelo, TX; and Sandra and Jim
Crawford from Grape Creek, TX. Alice is also survived by ten great-
grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
Furthermore, Alice was very close to her brother-in law and sister in-law
Antonio (Tony) and Virginia of Greeley, Colorado, and numerous nieces and
nephews—Rita Andrade from Dallas, TX; Frankie and Lucy Aguirre from San
Angelo, TX; Mark and Colleen La Rosa from Downey, CA; Jonathan and
Jessica La Rosa from Lakewood, CA; Michelle La Rosa from Fullerton, CA;
Mike and Margaret Orona, Betty Martinez, Cynthia Gutierrez, Noe and Norma
Medina, Beatrice Lara, Leroy and Cecilia Martinez, Tony and Wanda Delacruz,
and Jessie and Carol Cisneros who are all from Greeley, CO and surrounding
areas. Alice was also close to her special neighbors of 25+years, Matthew
and Jana Hinojosa of Greeley, CO, and their children whom Alice cared for
when they were younger.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned for Mrs. Delacruz. The
family will notify loved ones in the future when a memorial service is
scheduled. When her husband, Mr. Joe Delacruz is ready, he will spread some
of her ashes at Settler’s Park in Boulder, CO which is the couples favorite
park near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
A special thank you to the management team and staff members at First
Light Home Care in Greeley, CO and to the staff and management team at

to the medical providers and caregivers that cared for Alice during the last
two weeks of her life. And thank you to the management and staff team at
