Barbara Haun Foster

September 25, 1932 — May 11, 0024

Barbara Haun Foster, an always caring Mother, Grandmother and Friend, surrounded by her loving family, met her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ face to face as He took her to her eternal home in Heaven on May 11, 2024. She now has no more struggle and no more pain!

Barbara was born to Thomas and Lilly Mae Haun on September 25, 1932 in Cleveland, Bradley County, Tennessee. She graduated from Bradley County High School in 1950 and Carson-Newman College in English-Speech and Minor in Psychology in 1955. She spent a summer during college as a Summer Missionary in Alabama through the Southern Baptist Church. She followed her dream of teaching in Cocoa Beach, Florida in 1955 where she taught English and Drama. It was there that she met James Buck Foster and she married him in 1958. She then received her Master's Degree in English and Guidance at the University of Florida in 1962. Together she and Buck had 3 daughters: Sharon, Jamelyn and Emelie. In 1966 she began her commitment to her daughters' growing up years, raising them and not focusing on her career outside of the home. In the 80's she returned to teaching and doing other various work although no longer married to Buck.

She was a person who always tried to be kind, was very generous to those in need and was always concerned about the welfare of others. She would always make cookies or brownies to cheer people up who were having a difficult day. An avid reader herself, she loved reading to her girls. She wanted to give her best to every undertaking. She spent many years as a Sunday School teacher and director of the Vacation Bible School at her church. Her greatest desire was to raise her daughters to know and follow her Lord Jesus Christ and to share the Hope she had in Him with all people whom she met through her life.

She left some thoughts to share:

"I will not have lived a perfect life, but I will have sought to obey and glorify Jesus in all facets of my life and work."

and

"It is my sincere desire that others whose lives I have touched could know Jesus better because they saw Him in my life."

Barbara joins her grandparents, many extended family members, her parents, her brother George Haun and her son-in-law Josh Allen Foster in Heaven. Still living on this earth are her daughter Sharon Foster and her daughter Ariana and Ariana's son, daughter and son-in-law Jamelyn and Kent Peterson and children Benjamin and Hannah, daughter Emelie Borello and son Donovan Roubsouay and his wife Meredith and his children Adora, Phoenix and Elijah and Emelie's son Miles, brothers J.T. Haun and Harry Haun and wife Martha, numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family.
