Following a short battle with amyloid and multiple myeloma, Betty Ellen Betts of Windsor, Colorado passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the age of 73 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Staci and Jim Wasson, Stella and Marvin Ferris, and Brian and Jaime DeVries; six grandchildren: Bradley DeVries, Dillon Ferris, Mariah and Keith Adels, Desi Ferris and her boyfriend Riley Jones, Eli DeVries and Lucas DeVries; and one great-grandchild: Virgil Adels; her remaining brothers and sisters: Jan Sears, Margaret and Terry Bath, Carl and Mary Betts, Gene Olson, Andy and Frances Betts, and Murl Betts and his girlfriend Patty as well as other numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Betts; her sister, Ursula Olson, and her parents, Roland and Barbara Betts.
Betty was born February 5, 1951, in Hardin, Montana to Roland and Barbara Betts. They moved to Colorado in 1963 and Betty graduated from Poudre High School in 1969. Betty is one of 7 kids and falls right in the middle: Ronnie, Margaret, Carl, Ursula, Andy, and Murl. She met Robert DeVries and married in the early seventies and divorced in 1989. They had three children– Staci, Stella, and Brian. Betty worked a variety of jobs over the years including Camelot Cleaners, the donut shop, a tire shop in Idaho, 25 years at the Windsor School District, and most recently, finished out her career at Scheels which she loved. Betty enjoyed camping, water skiing, spending time with her family, going to the lake, attending CSU volleyball games, watching her kids play volleyball and softball, and her most favorite thing was dancing.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at The American Legion, 624 Ash St, Windsor, CO 80550.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the UC Health Cancer Care and Hematology Clinic-Loveland; Dr. Loffler at UC Health Heart and Vascular Clinic – Greeley; UC Health Hospital-Greeley; and Medical Center of the Rockies for all their care and compassion over the last six months.
