Carla Jean Ray

Carla Jean Ray, age 83, passed away on Monday, August 12th, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 4th, 1936 to Theodore and Dorothy Fliniau at Saint Luke's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Carla met Samuel Ray, of Walden, Colorado at the age of 15 and they went on their first date in 1952. Sam and Carla got married in 1956 after Sam's return from the Korean War and have been married for 63 years. They lived in Walden, Colorado until 2006 when they retired in Fort Collins.

Carla was the deputy county clerk of Jackson County for 20 years, which she truly enjoyed. She loved to meet the people of the community and knew just about everyone in North Park. Prior to working as deputy county clerk, she worked a number of years for Timberline, Walden's local builder supply. When Carla wasn't working at the courthouse, she was always found at her husband's side helping as a ranch hand and busy cooking the best homemade meals for everyone. She had the heart of a true servant, always looking to help others and give what she could.

She is preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Lou Davis and her brother Gary B. Fliniau. Carla is survived by her husband Samuel Ray, and their three sons, Dale Ray, Greg (Janet) Ray, and Sammy Ray, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her brother Charlie Fliniau.

Carla had an innocence about her and a pure soul. She was a bright light to all who met her, and her sense of humor, warm smile, and giving heart will be greatly missed.

Per Carla's wishes, there will not be any services held in her remembrance outside of the spreading of her ashes by her family.
