Carol Ann Robinson, 88, of Windsor, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Pathways Inpatient Care Center in Fort Collins, Colorado. Born on September 21, 1936, in Maine to Abbott Smith and Elizabeth Cooper Saunders Smith, Carol led a rich and eventful life that touched many.
After leaving Maine as a young woman, Carol called numerous places home, including Englewood, Larkspur (Perry Park), Castle Rock, Grand Junction, Fruita, and Windsor, Colorado. In each community, she cultivated friendships, deepened her faith, and created lasting memories. A devout Episcopalian, Carol was an active member of her church in every city she lived, finding strength and solace in her faith.
Carol had a passion for horseback trail riding, golf, and walking, which she embraced with joy during her cherished years in Perry Park and Grand Junction. Above all, she took great pride in raising her children, instilling in them values of love and caring for others that will continue to guide them.
Her lasting impact on her family is evident in the relationships between her children and stepchildren. Despite differences in age and location, Carol fostered a bond between them that continues to bring them joy. Her influence has made a lasting impact, creating a family that continues to support and love one another.
Carol is survived by her siblings, Susan Davis, Janet Riben, and Jim Smith; her children, Mike Henritze and wife Kristi of Windsor, Colorado, and Tom Henritze; her grandchildren, Jasmine Leece, Jade McKim, Dillon Henritze, Gracie Henritze, and Kelsey Henritze; and her four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sibling Pete Smith, her daughter Debra Otten, and her husbands Russ Henritze and Bob Robinson.
As her family reflects on her life, they celebrate her many accomplishments and the values she embodied, recognizing the ups and downs of her journey with love and gratitude. They find solace in knowing her spirit will continue to resonate through the generations.
A memorial service will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, located at 311 6th St, Windsor, Colorado, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Following the service, a reception will take place at the church, and all who knew and loved Carol are warmly invited to join in remembering her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Pathways Hospice of Fort Collins or St. Alban's Episcopal Church of Windsor in Carol's memory.
