Cecil Ihfe

December 25, 1957 — January 20, 2025

Cecil David Ihfe

Born on a snowy Christmas Day, December 25, 1957, in Grand Island, Nebraska. Cecil David Ihfe brought warmth and joy to everyone he met. At just two weeks old, Cecil and his family moved to Boulder, Colorado, before eventually settling in Severance, Colorado, where his parents, Gilbert and Dolores Ihfe, owned and operated the Severance Liquor Store. Later, the family moved to Windsor, Colorado.

Cecil graduated from Windsor High School and worked various jobs before finding his lifelong career at Kodak. He dedicated 25 years of service there, retiring in 2003. Cecil was a man of many passions, including motorcycles, building model trains and rail roads, and traveling. He had an adventurous spirit and a kind heart that touched all who knew him.

Cecil was funny, tenacious, and a fighter and warrior in every sense of the word. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Kay Ihfe, and a wonderful father to his three stepchildren. Above all, Cecil was caring, gracious, and selfless, always putting others before himself.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Dolores Ihfe; his brother, Donald Ihfe; and his stepdaughter, Jennifer Grasmick.

Cecil leaves behind a family who adored him: his wife and soul mate, Kay Ihfe; his stepchildren, Jamie Walker, Jason and Tonya Grasmick; grandchildren: Taylor Wilson, Preston Duff, Ty Walker, Jasmine Duff, Aaron Duff, Luke Walker, Bryanna Grasmick and numerous great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law Pam McCombs, nieces and nephews, who were very near and dear to his heart. These include Christina Ihfe and her son Tziah; Chad Ihfe, children Makayla, Tyson, Taya, Presley, and Shayden; Connie and Joel Scott and their children Samuel, Aiden, and Arabella; David and Amanda Ihfe and their children Donald, Cegan, Harley, McKenzie, and Chevelle.

Also surviving is the Lassiter families in Oregon.

Cecil was more than a husband, father, brother, and uncle, he was a hero, a soulmate, and a friend to many. His strength and love will remain an inspiration to all who knew him.

A celebration of Cecil’s life will be held in the spring, with the date to be announced.

May Cecil find the peace he so greatly deserves, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
