Cheryl Kay Chestnut 58 ,has went home to be with her Lord on August 11th,2023. She was born in Fort Worth, Texas on October 7, 1964 to Margaret Sue Young and Bobby Gene Chestnut Sr. A Step-Daughter to Steve McCauley and Elizabeth Chestnut. She was raised in Metairie Louisiana.
In 1983 Cheryl Graduated from East Jefferson High School .She received her Bachelor's Degree in Stenography from Franklin College. Her career began with Substitute teaching instructor at Gadsden State Community (foster care and minor child development ,she fostered Jason for 6 years) Franklin College of Court Reporting (closed captioning and Medical/LegaI Transcription)Her working career consisted of a Substitute Teacher at Cherokee County Board of Education, Foster Care Worker at Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, Certified Nursing Asst.at McGuffey Healthcare, Stenography Instructor at Franklin College of Court Reporting, and Gulf-Coast Media. She was a caretaker to many throughout her life.
In 2017 she moved to Rockport, Texas where then she met the love of her life Reynaldo (Ray) Hinojosa. Her hobbies were sketching, gardening, and antiquing. In 2020 they moved to Windsor, Colorado. Cheryl became Rays in- home health provider, and did so lovingly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her loving soul. She had a strong Catholic Faith ,great love for her family and much enthusiasm for life. Cheryl was loved by a host of family and dear friends.
She is survived by her life partner Ray Hinojosa, Step-parent Elizabeth Chestnut, Brothers ,Jimmy Chestnut (Sarah),Bobby Chestnut (Connie), MichaeI Chestnut (Sue),Brian Chestnut. Half Sisters - Stephanie McCauley Hebert (David), and Tanya Chestnut Tucker(Jason).Nephews- Kobe, Jonathan, Jacob, Layne, Donte' and Javari. Neices Amanda,Christina,Bobbie,Britani,Lirin,Audrey,AlIy,Lexie,Sha'Lyn,Vinaya,Vonnie, and Amiri who will be making a grand entrance soon. Along with her Aunts and Uncles and other family members.
Proceeded in death by her Parents, Bobby Chestnut and Margaret McCauley, Step-parent Steve McCauley. Grandparents Eugene and Dorthula Agnes Casey, Niece Addison Chestnut and Nephew Kamron Melendez.
