Dorothy Held

Dorothy J. Held, 94, of Windsor passed away Tuesday, September 26 at her home, Windsor Columbine Commons.  She was born May 17, 1929 to Adam Brehm and Marie Schafer.  She attended and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1947, lettering in Softball.  On November 23, 1947 she married Hermam Held of Windsor and attended St Johns Lutheran Church.  She was a hardworking wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her whole life.  She worked at various jobs until her retirement from Eastman Kodak in 1983.  She was a member of the Windsor American Legion Auxiliary Post 109 and the Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Evans.

She was a gifted seamstress who took pride in her conscious detail to everything.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, and quilting. Family and friends loved coming to her home for her generous hospitality and exemplary German cooking and baking.

Survivors are a daughter Diana Bleignier and husband Paul, of Greeley, Two granddaughters, Carolyn and Huband Steve, Adele and husband Travis, Two grandsons, Philip Bleignier and wife Gwen and Andrew Bleignier. A great grandson and three great granddaughters.  Sisters MaryAnn Gooding, Ruby Harding, Geri Sterkel and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by husband Herman Held in 2004, son Terrell Held in 2014, a brother and three sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Windsor Columbine Commons October 17, at 10:00am and Memorial Services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church October 24, at 11:00am.
