Dorothy Louise Stout

Dorothy Louise Stout (Wiedeman), 89, of Eaton, Colorado gave up her physical body at Westlake Lodge surrounded by her loving family on May 29th, 2023, she was born on September 29th, 1933 in Windsor to German-Russian immigrant parents Jake and Molly (Schwartz) Wiedeman. With big brother (Wilbert Wiedeman), big sister (Irene Maxey), and little sister (Nancy Bailey) she grew up playing softball and working on the farm. She attended the Gilcrest and Gill schools, graduated from Gilcrest High in 1951.

In 1955 she married Carl A. Schmidt in Raton, NM, and together they owned Judy's Supper Club in Platteville Colorado. After her divorce from Carl Dorothy married James B. Stout in Las Vegas, NV on March 5th, 1961, together they had two children, Kelly J. Stout of Eaton, CO, and Shelly S. Stout (Burns) of Arvada, CO.

Dorothy spent her adult life in Weld County owning numerous businesses', her most memorable were The Capper Club in Evans and Dorothy's Yummy Corner in Greeley featuring Taco Toro, Harry's Drive in, and Baskin Robbins Ice Cream. After her career in the restaurant/bar industry, she started her second career in the Assisted Living business. She was instrumental in developing and owning numerous Assisted Living centers in Colorado. Dorothy never wanted to retire, she loved to work and stay busy, due to failing health she partially retired in 2008 and continued to work & volunteer part time in Eaton until her health wouldn't let her work anymore in 2019.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her little siter Nancy recently passed on April 10th. She is survived by her children Kelly Stout, (Liesa Brown) Shelly (Travis) Burns Grandsons Mathew "Cody" (Elena) Stout of Alma Nebraska, James K (Sarah) Stout, Jake Burns (Lorna Hartzler), Kelsey Burns, (Neil) Fine, Great Grandchildren Ryland and Torrey Stout, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Dorothy loved to host an annual family picnic during "Eaton Day's" at her home.

To honor her memory an open house will be held on July 8th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at 802 1st Street, in Eaton.
