Henry Detterer

Henry Detterer, 94, of Windsor, passed away May 16, 2019, in Fort Collins.
Henry was born January 8, 1925, to Konie and Katherine (Boltz) Detterer in Windsor.
He attended Windsor High School. On July 12, 1953, he married Betty Walter in Windsor.
Mr. Detterer joined the Navy and served on the USS Yorktown. He was a member of the American Legion Post 109 in Windsor for 73 years. Henry worked as a farmer his entire life. He loved to travel and read.
Henry is survived by his wife, Betty; children Stanley (Shari) Detterer of Windsor, Sondra (Charles) Fagler of Cheyenne; grandchildren Kyle Fagler, Jessica (Brett) Okamoto, Jordan Detterer; and great-granddaughter Lauren Fagler.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Werner Detterer;
and sister, Lydia Hettinger.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, at Faith Lutheran Church in Johnstown. Military honors and graveside service will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor. A reception will take place at the American Legion Post 109 Windsor following the graveside inurnment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight of Northern Colorado or Faith Lutheran Church.
