John was born on September 13, 1956, in Loveland, Colorado to Johann Wolfgang Dressel and Maria Dressel. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. John attended Windsor High School (Class of 1974) where he met the love of his life, Debbie (Olson) Dressel. They were married on October 15, 1976 at Faith United Church of Christ. From this blessed union, they had two children Nick Dressel and Lauren Marie (Dressel) Sein.
After high school, John completed a 4-year apprenticeship program through Kodak Colorado Division where he became certified as an automated equipment mechanic. He was employed at Kodak Colorado Division, now Care Stream Health, for 47 years. He retired in August 2020 and was looking forward to enjoying down time with his family, fishing as much as possible, and enjoying some much-deserved rest and relaxation.
John was a great athlete in his youth. He loved to play softball where he made many life-long friends. John also enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and water skiing. He had a green thumb and kept beautiful vegetable gardens, flower beds and the greenest grass in the neighborhood. He was also gifted cook and enjoyed sharing his gift with his family and friends.
Most of all John loved his family. His favorite place to be was at home, surrounded by his family and he was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
John is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; children Nick and spouse Sonja, of Chadron, Nebraska; Lauren and spouse, Parabol, of Thornton, Colorado; Grandchildren Aidan Wolfgang Dressel, Avarie Marie and Livia Leigh Sein; mother, Maria Dressel; sisters, Annemarie (Keith) Miller, Rosie (Jordan) Hecker; and many other members of his extended family.
