John O. Beck, 86, of Greeley, passed away Jan. 6, 2020, at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.
He was born Sept. 11, 1933, in Gillette, Wyo., to Oscar and Edith (Buckmiller) Beck. John graduated from Campbell County High School in Gillette in 1951. After graduating from High School John enlisted in the Air Force. He then attended the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla. On Feb. 2, 1963 he married Virginia Mielke in Arlington, Virginia.
John worked for Allegheny Airlines, the original Frontier Airlines, and retired from Piedmont/US Airways.
He enjoyed Carpentry, gardening tomatoes, and woodworking. John was very good at fixing most things usually with his signature epoxy or a screw.
Mr. Beck is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Beck; children Carol of Scottsbluff, Neb.; David of Destrehan, Louisiana; and Roberta of Windsor; his six grandchildren, Catherine Beck, Carla Beck, Amandeep Cheema, Simran Cheema, Gabriel Eckdahl and Owen Eckdahl, all of whom he was extremely proud of.
He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar (1967) and Edith Beck (1987) and brother Jerry Beck.
Full Air Force honors inurnment will be at 11:30, Friday, Jan. 24, at Staging Area “B” at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.
