Lena Lefort, 82, of Windsor, passed away on March 29, 2021. She was born on August 18, 1938, to Frank and Marcelina Sanchez in Dodge City, Kansas. She graduated from Dodge City High School. She earned her Cosmetology degree and was a beautician for several years. On July 5, 1962, she married Paul Lefort in Dodge City. In 1977 they moved to Loveland, before moving to Windsor in 1995.
Lena loved pictures - especially those of her two grandchildren, and she loved sharing them with her extended family and friends. She loved flowers, and looked forward every year to planting them and seeing them bloom. She enjoyed watching her Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Nuggets every football and basketball season, and would often watch replays of their games on TV. Most of all, Lena loved her family. Often, she expressed that love through cooking; her enchiladas were a family favorite. She was a kind, thoughtful, fun, and strong woman who will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to call her wife, mother, Grandma Lena, daughter, sister and friend.
Lena is survived by her husband, Paul, of 58 years of Windsor; her son, Vance, daughter-in-law, Kelly and grandchildren, Jonah and Tavia of Fort Collins; brothers, Richard (Carol) of Wichita, Kansas and Jerry (Juanita) of Dodge City, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her son, Evan; her parents, Frank and Marcelina Sanchez; and brothers Frankie and David Sanchez.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Lena at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, April 9 at Timberline Church, 2908 South Timberline Road in Fort Collins. Due to COVID, masks and social distancing are required
