Lewis Allen Borger

December 29, 1956 — March 11, 2023

Windsor

Lewis Allen Borger, ‘Big Lew’, was a loving husband, father, pappy, friend, prankster, and pool shark. He left this world suddenly on March 11, 2023 at age 66.  His courage in battling Sarcoidosis and other health issues showed his determination in facing life's challenges. Despite the pain, Lew came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

He was raised in Moshannon, PA, by his parents Irene Borger and Bob Borger.  Lew worked at Cerro Metal Products for over 20 years before becoming a local handyman for friends and family and strangers in both Pennsylvania and Colorado.  Some of his most memorable projects include transforming a one room school house into a beautiful home in Bellefonte, PA,  creating a wooden lemonade stand for his grandson William, and making a homemade water feature out of Colorado red rock for his home in Windsor, CO.

Lew loved spending time socializing with nearly everyone that he met, whether they knew him or not.  Lew’s sense of humor was contagious, even when inappropriate. He made instant friends and shared his joy for life every time he met someone new.  He was generous and kind, and would stop on a dime to help anyone in need.  He loved to support local charities, especially those with bake sales.  Lew also started a men’s pool league at the local senior recreation center that met every Tuesday.

Most weekends he spent shooting pool, working on carpentry projects at home, and cheering for Penn State, The New York Mets, and The Steelers.  He also enjoyed good food and never forgot his favorite spots, including random ‘truck stops’ and diners.  Lew loved to hunt and be out in nature.  His favorite hunting spot was on Mount Nittany, directly across from his home in Bellefonte, PA.  He also had a great love for the ocean and his vacations to Myrtle Beach.

In addition to being a huge sports fan, Lew was a football and track star in highschool.  He continued his athletic endeavors coaching Little League baseball for his kids, and playing with “Filthy U’  softball.  He was a lifelong pool shooter, always refining and perfecting his craft.

Lew is survived by his wife Lorna, son Rob, daughter Stephanee, sister Esther, grandson William, dog Shiloh, and cat Cooper.  He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Irene and brother Timothy.  Most importantly, Lew is remembered by all those who were fortunate enough to meet him throughout his lifetime.
