Loretta Marie (Olsen) Cosgrove passed away on August 1, 2020 at home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Loretta was 91 years old. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 27, 1928 to Olaf and Mildred Olsen. Loretta had three siblings: Roger, Betty, and Alice.
Loretta was a loving mother to eight children: Maureen Kral (Larry), Patricia Mulhall (Ken), Elizabeth Diver (Jeff), Kevin Cosgrove (Michelle), Mark Cosgrove (Dimitrios), Celeste Sultze, Loretta Ferguson (Dan), and Thomas Cosgrove. She also had 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cosgrove, her son Mark Cosgrove, and her granddaughter Beth Renninger.
After raising her children, she enjoyed traveling to see their growing families and the occasional international trip. She kept her mind young by playing solitaire -- later on her iPad as technology evolved -- doing word searches, and keeping up on the headlines. She enjoyed Bible study at church and coffee group with her friends.
She took a genuine interest in each person she met and touched the lives of everyone in her life. Loretta was a prayerful woman. She started each day with morning prayers and ended each day with gratitude while watching the sunset. Her smile was contagious and her eyes always sparkled.
She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, Colorado. Memorial information will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, we’ll celebrate her life everyday.
