Lynn Marie DeCamp

October 8, 1956 — November 16, 2019

Lynn Marie DeCamp (Soderberg), 63, passed away of natural causes on November 16, 2019.
Lynn was born on October 8, 1956, to Ralph A Soderberg and Patricia Loy Soderberg (Borgmann), in Fort Collins, Colorado. She had one older sibling, Mark A Soderberg.

She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1974. There, she was a pompom girl and sang with the Tower Singers. She was also involved in musical theater and fondly remembered performing in Fiddler on the Roof.

Post high school, she studied at Arapahoe Community College and worked toward a degree in interior design. Later, she took courses to become a court stenographer. Then she did payroll for her father’s company, Soderberg Masonry, in Fort Collins.

Lynn was passionate about art. She spent the summer of 1976 studying abroad at an art school in Vienna, Austria. As she became older, she explored many ways to express her creativity, including cross-stitching, stained-glass window design, scrapbooking, cardmaking, Zentangle, and adult coloring books. She was a truly talented artist who added a personal touch to every piece she worked on, even in her coloring books.

In her younger years she enjoyed skiing and travelling with her parents and brother.
She had two children. Her son Karsten was born in 1980, and daughter Krista followed in 1982. In their early years, Lynn was a single mother and enjoyed playing music, dancing with, and reading to her children.

Lynn married Robert Stanley DeCamp on August 4th, 1990, at Arvada Covenant Church. Robert’s two sons, Robert and Samuel, quickly became part of the family.

She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and enjoyed finding or making personalized gifts for all of them.

Lynn was a devout Christian who attended many churches throughout her life (Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada, Colorado; Arvada Covenant Church; First Baptist Church in Fort Collins; Cornerstone Baptist Church in Twin Falls, ID; and Lighthouse Christian Church in Twin Falls); she was always singularly motivated by loving and worshipping the Lord.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Stanley DeCamp of Windsor, Colorado; children Karsten James Roberts (Catherine; children Porter Freya and August Cole) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Robert Solomon DeCamp of Anderson, South Carolina; Samuel Timothy DeCamp of San Francisco, California; and Krista Ellen Ford (nee Roberts) of Windsor, Colorado; brother Mark of Fort Collins, Colorado (children Erik Matthew of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Melanie Rose of Longmont, Colorado).

She will be deeply missed by many family members and friends, who all knew her to be sweet, loving, kind-hearted, generous, and funny.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph (2005) and mother, Patricia (2016), as well as many dear uncles, aunts, and cousins on both sides of the family.

Lynn’s memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Marks Funeral Chapel, 9293 Eastman Park Dr., Windsor, Colorado,
