Margaret Ann Smith (nee Woerner) passed away Monday, February 22, 2021, at the Pathways Hospice Unit at McKee Medical Center, Loveland, CO, at the age of 88. She was born July 26, 1932, in Peoria, IL, to Fred and Dorothy (Souder) Woerner, attended Woodruff High School and Bradley University, and married Robert G. Smith of Peoria on August 4, 1951. Margaret and Bob raised three children in Peoria: Kathleen, Charles, and David, and then they moved to the Orlando, FL, area in 1980, where Margaret worked at the Tupperware World Headquarters until her retirement. Bob passed way in March, 2013, in Orlando, and Margaret remained there until 2016 when she moved to Good Samaritan Senior Living (and later Assisted Living) in Windsor, CO, to be close to her daughter. She was predeceased by her parents, her older brother Robert Woerner of Dunlap, IL, his wife Jackie, their daughter, niece Debbie Landis of Pekin, IL, and a nephew, Sean Woerner. She is survived by her younger brother Donald Woerner of Peoria, daughter Kathleen Goering and her husband Scott of Windsor, CO, son Charles Smith of Indianapolis, son David Smith and his wife Daphne of Kent, WA, and grandson Christopher Smith of Indianapolis, plus three nieces and three nephews. Mark’s Funeral Service in Windsor, CO, is handling arrangements, including cremation. No services will be held at this time. The family will meet later to remember Margaret and scatter her ashes, which are to be mixed with Bob’s. It gives us comfort to contemplate the prospect of their joyful reunion in Heaven.
