Patricia Ann Casteel

Patricia (Pat) Ann Casteel passed away peacefully at home, November 23, 2020. She was born in Laramie, Wyoming, on March 17, 1943, to Edward and Isabel (Boegel) Deuel. Pat was raised in Greeley, Colorado. She attended St Peter’s Grade School, Meeker Jr. High, and Greeley Central High School. She attended the Greeley School of Cosmetology and obtained her beautician’s license. In 1961, Pat married Richard Casteel at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado. They lived in Greeley, where Pat worked as a beautician until becoming a stay at home mom to raise their three children. They moved to Windsor, CO in 1977, where Pat started her bookkeeping career. She was a bookkeeper for over 40 years, working for Sava Senior Care and Columbine Health Care Systems, before retiring in May 2012.
Pat enjoyed working with children and was a Catechism teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a Cub Scout Leader for several years. She loved getting the family together, for holiday and family get togethers at their Windsor home. She was a member of several Pokeno groups and always looked forward to hosting the Thanksgiving Pokeno dinner.
Although she was faced with many health problems, she was always an example of kindness, humility and love.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard of Greeley. Children: Daniel Casteel and Suzanne Casteel, both of Greeley. Grandchildren: Lane Casteel of Greeley, Todd Casteel of Colorado Springs, Cody Casteel of Aurora, Matt and Sarah Kauffman of Aurora. Sister, Colleen Helzer of Greeley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, son Edward Casteel, sister Bonnie Jean Loftus and granddaughter Becky Kauffman.
Memorial Service at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1250 7th Street, Windsor, CO. on
December 4, 2020. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Covid 19 Restrictions are in place at Our Lady of the Valley Church. All Attendees are required to wear a mask.
