Pauline Dugas (née Isaac), 65, of Greeley, Co. went home to the Lord on December 5th after a long series of illnesses.
Pauline was born June 26th, 1958, in Wheelwright, KY. She was raised Southern Baptist as one of 13
children in a coal mining family. Pauline was an avid poet and writer, and an aspiring nurse in her youth.
She graduated from Wheelwright High School in 1976 and attended nursing classes until moving to
Maine in 1980 where she married Tom Dugas and raised their two children on the family farm. She was
very active in her children’s lives and gave generously to the local school system.
Pauline eventually moved to Pennsylvania in 2004 where she worked for the Salvation Army. She was a
light to those in the dark, touching thousands of lives with her love, laughter, and charity.
She finally settled in Colorado to be closer to her daughter. Pauline continued her education at AIMS
and North Colorado University, earning a BS in Psychology at age 62. Pauline was pursuing a Graduate
Degree in counseling when she succumbed to her illnesses.
Pauline was a kind and generous soul who dedicated her life to the joy and happiness of others. She
was smart and fiercely observant, and left people in stitches with her silly sense of humor. Pauline
endured many struggles and challenges in her life, but she always had a smile on her face and never lost
faith in the Lord. It was often her strength and perseverance that inspired people the most. Those who
encountered her light were forever touched. She was a wonderful spirit and a special person who gave
way more of herself than she ever received.
Her greatest joys were reserved for her family, particularly her children and grandchildren who she
loved all the way to the moon and back, and always let them know. We honor her with our
commitment to charity, kindness, laughter, and love. And where charity, kindness, laughter and love
reside, that’s where she’ll be.
She is survived by her children Edmund Dugas, 41, of Greenville, SC and his wife Rachel, and Lilly Beaver,
38, of Topsham, ME and her husband, Loren. She is also survived by her two grandchildren.
Additionally, she is survived by her sisters Marlene Sloan and Floris Steele and brother Merlin Isaac, all
of Ligonier, IN, and her sister Flotine Lau of Denver, PA.
