Robert John Cavanaugh, age 89, died peacefully on July 20, 2023 in Windsor, Colorado. Born
June 1, 1934 to the late Hiram and Margaret Cavanaugh. “Bob” married Mary Jo Ralph on June
17, 1961.
He is survived by his daughter Pamela Hepler (Foster), Granddaughter Cara Hepler (Cameron
Wilson) and many nieces, nephews and a few close friends.
He was a Korean War Veteran. He served on the Oil City Police Force in numerous roles retiring
as a Captain in 1983 and moving to Tucson, AZ where he became an environmental engineer for
Hughes Aircraft. He retired from Hughes to be a full-time caregiver for his wife Mary Jo
Cavanaugh during her extended illness. She preceded him in death in 2008.
He was very proud to have served his country in the war and as a police officer. He also enjoyed
hunting, fishing, gun collecting, country dancing, trips to the casino and spending time with
family and friends.
As per his wishes there will be no services and his ashes will be distributed at a later date.
