Obituary
Robert Jay Dieterle 77 of Windsor, CO passed away Wednesday August 7, 2019 at the Medical Center of the Rockies after a strong fight against cancer.
He was born December 17, 1941 in Greeley, CO to Alex and Rachel Dieterle. He graduated from Greeley High School in 1960.
Mr. Dieterle worked as a brick mason with his father Alex. The majority of his career was spent as an over the road truck driver. During the 80’s, Pops owned and operated the Why Knot Tavern in Windsor where he met and loved many people.
He liked fishing, bowling and watching television. Any version of CSI or his beloved Broncos and Rockies would be found on the TV. Late night was for the news and Leno. He also walked many miles with his beloved Elway. He didn’t like his boys picking on him. Lol
He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Rachel, his brother Doug, his daughter Robbyn and his ol’ Boy Elway. Survivors are Bob (Lauri) Dieterle of Ault, CO. Jode (Ginni) Dieterle of Elizabeth CO. and Paul Sheridan(Crisha) of Greeley. Stevie (Nash) Martin of Windsor, Nicole Dieterle of Timnath, Jessie (Travis) Selmer of Kersey, Zach Sheridan of Fort Collins, Lily Meska of Hays, KS and Clarissa Dieterle of Elizabeth, CO. Seven great grandchildren and numerus kids from the 80’s who called him Pops.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Marks Funeral & Cremation Service 9293 Eastman Park Dr, Windsor, CO on Sept 4 at 12:30pm.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Robert Dieterle memorial fund and will be donated to the local church’s that provided the dinners he enjoyed weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
P.S. don’t call on those days, I am eating!
