Shirley Ann Robison was born on a ranch between Ord and North Loup Nebraska to Rudolf and Zella Plate,
February 7, 1936. Shirley went home to be with God on the morning of February 6, 2023.
Shirley attended grade school in rural Nebraska. The family moved to Wellington Colorado in the late 1940s,
where she graduated from Wellington High School in 1954.
Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Bruce Robison, April 17, 1955. Bruce was in the Army at that time.
They were stationed in Anchorage Alaska which were some of the best times of their lives. After Bruce was
honorable discharged from the service, they came back to Wellington where they farmed with Shirley’s father.
They then moved to Fort Collins, where Shirley briefly worked for the Fort Collins School District. In 1968, they
bought an elevator in Greeley where they ran the Robison Elevator. Shirley ran the office and managed the books
for the business.
Shirley loved to garden. She grew the most beautiful roses that grew as tall as the roofline of their home. Shirley
also loved to sew where she created and sewed the most beautiful clothes. She designed and sewed both her
daughter’s wedding dresses in which people are in awe of still today. In 2000, Shirley and Bruce took an extended
summer vacation back to Alaska to revisit the land they love so much.
Shirley will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Shirley leaves behind
her husband of 67 years, Bruce Robison, son, Rodney Robison (Vicki), daughters, Annette Foust (Steven), and Cheri
Sonday (Charles), grandchildren Miranda Canton (Steven), AJ Swanson (Jake), Becky Sonday (Sam Lake), Laura
Ashworth (Taylor Karrol), great grandchildren Gavin Canton, Claire Rose Canton, Remi Ashworth, and Roczen
Karrol.
A private family service will be held.
