“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21.4.
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Stephen Boehm, 74, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 3, 1949, in Greeley, CO, Stephen devoted his life to selfless service in the military, to his career and family. Stephen proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1967-71, achieving the rank of Petty Officer Third Class. His military service took him to various parts of the world, including tours in Vietnam, Philippines, Japan, and Alaska, where he earned several medals for his bravery and leadership. His commitment to his country was unwavering. Following his distinguished military service, Stephen remained a hard-working and dedicated working man. He spent 33 years working at Eastman Kodak Company in Windsor, CO, where he was known for his compassionate leadership. Despite his many responsibilities at Kodak, Stephen was always a dedicated husband and father first. Though Stephen never liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, humility, gentleness, selflessness, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. In his retirement, Stephen enjoyed walking the dogs, spending quiet time with his cats, tinkering in the yard, and traveling to see family. He was also an avid reader, particularly interested in WW1 and WW2 history, geography, and the Bible. His “book of maps” was never out of reach. He especially enjoyed sharing stories and knowledge with his children and grandchildren, wowing us with his use of unique vocabulary along the way. Ask us if you ever need help understanding what we mean when we use the words/phrases tenni-go-fasters/tenni-hoons, penquin, heck-fire, do-badders, aye-a-bubba, ach du lieber, and the Hummingbird. Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Laurie; children, Stephen Jr. (Michele), Kirk (Johanna), and Mike (Danielle); grandchildren, Noah, Victoria (Ethan), Jacob, Eleanor, and Daniela; siblings Lynda Forness Sharron Vosmera, and Greg Boehm; and dogs Benji and Nacho and cat Muffin. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Dorothy Boehm (and stepmom, Helen), and siblings Patricia Ferrell, Tammy Miller, and Keith Boehm. His legacy of service and love will forever be cherished by his family and friends. A funeral service to honor Stephen’s life and service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Calvary Chapel Berthoud, 1040 N. 4th St., Berthoud, CO 80513. Military honors will be rendered on-site at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice (i.e., Wounded Warriors, Hospice, prostate cancer treatment/research, Calvary Chapel Berthoud).
