Viola Gebhardt, 86, of Windsor, passed away January 21, 2020, at Medical Center of The Rockies.
Viola was born to George and Minnie Firestien on Feb. 12, 1933 in Greeley.
She was raised on a farm in Bracewell. Viola graduated from Windsor High School in 1950. She took over the household and family when her mother become ill until she was healthy. On July 15, 1956, she married Wilbert Gebhardt at St. Paul’s Congregational Church in Greeley.
She worked at Greeley Dry goods for a time before becoming a meat wrapper at Safeway where she worked for 10 years. In her later years she worked at Ptarmigan Country Club as a prep cook. She then worked for Senor Jalapenos for 13 years before retiring.
Viola is survived by her sisters; Betty Schmidt of Ketchekan, Alaksa, Delores (Charles) Ehrlich of Casper, Wyo.; and sisters-in-law JoAnn Firestien of Ault, Helen Gebhardt of Windsor; and Loretta (Dale) Karns of Fort Collins; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother George Firestien Jr.; and her husband Wilbert Gebhardt.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, at our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1250 7th St., Windsor. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall immediately following mass. Inurnment will be held at 1:30 p.m., at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor.
